One can form dystopian or utopian views of the direction in which we are marching. This talk aims to inform the discussion.

2021年（令和3年）1月11日には249cmを観測し、平成期以降では2度目の積雪2m超えとなった。このうち市役所については、合併後はまず旧高田市庁舎（1914年8月竣工、1977年6月撤去）を本庁舎、旧直江津市庁舎を分庁舎として5年間運用した後、新しい本庁舎（現在の木田庁舎）を春日地区に建設し、1976年（昭和51年）3月に竣工、同年4月10日に開庁した。
