Sometimes I experiment with different materials just to see how they feel in daily life. It saves a lot of trial and error for everyone else. The main things I look at for glasses are frame weight, hinge quality and lens coating. Everyone has different expectations, but real photos and detailed comments are useful for everyone.
If anyone is interested in real user experiences, I sometimes write short notes about the shops I test.

If anyone has long term experience with certain online shops, I am always curious to read it. If they reply politely and give detailed answers, I feel more relaxed. Online shopping will always have a bit of risk, but experience makes it easier. Many times I avoided a bad purchase just by reading a few careful comments.
